Update 8/2/2012

My first post since May … my apologies for the long delay.

Much has happened since May.  I won’t go into the investigation and my lawsuit against the state of NC in this post … I’ll try to write an update on that topic soon.

What this post IS about … an update on ‘Steve’.

8/1/2012 was my 3 year ‘low carb primal’ anniversary.

What makes this significant to me (and should be to you too)?

Because the so called ‘experts’ told me….

1) It’s not healthy.

2) It’s not sustainable, it won’t last.

Well… after three years, maintaining the best health of my adult life (and normal blood sugars) …  it’s just more proof that the experts are either…

A) Willfully Ignorant

B) Intellectually Lazy

C) Greedy

D) Or all of the above.

Further proof that I am still ‘Thriving… and not just surviving”… my three blood sugar readings before breakfast, lunch and dinner today.

I recently brought home a new baby … I am so proud. :))

I truly am THRIVING … and not just surviving.

I wish you would too.

3 Year “Low Carb Primal”  Anniversary …. 8/1/2012

A little over three years ago I discovered ‘primal living’ as espoused by Mark Sisson ofhttp://www.marksdailyapple.com  …

…. Mark’s website changed my life forever and I will never go back to the way I once lived.  This post in particular was important, I call it my nutritional epiphanyhttp://www.marksdailyapple.com/diabetes/#axzz22JRyI8f7

There are many other “primal mentors” to whom I owe much … just a few on the short list +Richard Nikoley of http://freetheanimal.com/, Dr. BG of http://drbganimalpharm.blogspot.com/ and Dr. Ayers of http://coolinginflammation.blogspot.com/

And of course… there are many friends on and off the internet who have meant a great deal to me … too many to mention.

… to you all… THANK YOU!

I was once a drug and insulin dependent, chronically sick, obese, type 2 diabetic.

Now … I am drug and insulin free… with normal blood sugar for non-diabetics.

  1. Steve, I am so glad you are doing well! I “discovered” your website about 3 months ago, and I found your info to be absolutely revolutionary.

Ok Steve, maybe a dumb question, but does your diet help diabetics with Type 1 diabetes? Or is the high protein/high fat/low carbohydrate diet only beneficial to those who have Type 2 diabetes? I would greatly appreciate a response.
    Thanks! Julio

    1. It helps everyone … some who were diagnosed as T1 have weaned off insulin. (Yes, they were misdiagnosed)

Grain, hydrogentated veggie oil and sugar avoidance reduces inflammation and helps everyone… but true T1’s will require insulin for the rest of their lives. However they, like all non-diabetics have other ailments which this ‘diet’ helps. :)
