Ground Beef Is Diabetes Friendly
Ground beef is diabetes friendly, as are all fatty meats. Slow roasting is awesome because it retains most of the fat in the meat. Win Win!!

After decades of ‘living in the rat race’, my love for nature and zest for living was reawakened. Now I try to live ‘in tune’ with nature as much as possible in the modern world…
I was approached by DiabeticShoeHub to review their diabetic shoe, I-Runners. I agreed. When I agreed, I was typically barefoot so I decided to wear the shoes for short periods of time to allow my feet to adjust to shoes in general and to these shoes specifically. After a couple of weeks of wearing the …
I love the low carb paleo lifestyle. It helps me successfully manage diabetes.
I am NEVER going back to the way I once ate and lived. NEVER! :)
The most important lesson … just looking at fasting numbers is NOT enough.
My personal daily goal: Obtain and maintain truly normal blood sugars. Note: I am content to eat, play and LIVE as I do today… for the rest of my life. But I LOVE to experiment! And if I can help others find a means to improve their insulin sensitivity and improve their blood sugar levels, …
The incestuous commingling of influence peddling is … revolting.
Have you heard of, “24 hours of Le Mans!?” … this is nothing like that. LOL! :)
This post will be pictures of blood sugars, activities and foods for one day. I’m going to try to take blood sugar readings every hour or two once the day begins. Hopefully it will be more helpful and inspirational than the race.
Purpose: To educate, motivate … and perhaps entertain. :)
Note: At the end of this post is a Google Doc that is embedded in the sheet. Just ‘refresh’ the page to see ‘real time’ results. Isn’t this exciting!!! :)
Without question Big Food, Big Pharma nor the Medical Industry wants anyone promoting low carb paleo dietary advice for managing diabetes. They do not want any group promoting low carb paleo, period. Now there is proof.
Diabetes Educators and the Medical Industry do not promote ‘self-management’… stating such is LUDICROUS! The medical industry promotes using a ‘diabetes care team’, all of whom get their ‘cut’ from public and private insurances. They all combine to make diabetes self-treatment impossible by promoting a blood-sugar-elevating diet.
Dietitian, nutritionist and diabetes educator groups are on the front line of this battle. As more people realize the dietary guidance from them is a sham … the less people will pay for their services.
If Diabetes Warriors know anything … we know that education and initials after your name mean NOTHING when it comes to diabetes advice.
Displaying a 12 or 24 hour flat line creates a stark contrast to the typical diabetes roller coaster; the soaring highs and crashing lows are harmful physically and mentally as people attempt to maintain control.
I look to our distant past to see if there are ways I can live closer to how we were designed to live, but I test everything against my blood sugar levels. Normal blood sugar levels are the key to THRIVING with diabetes, not living according to some dogmatic fantasy reconstruction.
Explore, play and expand your MIND… as well as your cooking methods and foods. Very slow roasting should be part of your cooking arsenal.
It’s an excellent resource for reducing blood sugars as well as regaining control of your health. I only wish it had been available when I began my journey — a must read for all!
Thanks to Stewart Mclean for sending me the information for this post. As you read this post keep three things in mind: First, I’ve been following a low carb, high fat diet for OVER six years now and as a formerly obese, formerly drug and insulin dependent diabetic, I THRIVE!! (6 year anniversary post). Second, let …

A pictorial history of my six year anniversary, celebrating the successful managing of diabetes with a low carb paleo lifestyle.
Join me in THRIVING!!! and not ‘just’ surviving.
When I arrived, the sun was not visible due to cloud cover. Then suddenly, the clouds gloriously parted and the sun was visible over the horizon. I watched intently as the sun began to climb the sky over the Atlantic.
A glowing, golden orange ball in the sky. It’s reflection colored the water and the waves that broke in its light …a TRULY surreal scene.
